DoublePark

How it Works

Last Updated: October 1, 2026

Introduction

DoublePark connects people looking for parking to people leaving parking spots.

You've probably seen it happen. You're walking back to your car, and somebody driving by rolls down their window to ask if you're leaving. You say yes, pack your things, get in your car and when you pull out, they pull in and take that parking spot.

DoublePark coordinates that handoff. Drivers looking for parking don't have to spend 30 minutes waiting to get lucky and find the one person who's leaving. People leaving get paid for the extra time and effort it takes to wait for the driver and make sure they get that parking spot.

How To: Finding a Spot

  1. Tap Find a spot. Pick where you're headed, or use your current location. Whichever you choose decides where DoublePark will look for parking. Choose Building A as your destination and DoublePark will match you with a parking spot near Building A. Use your current location if you're already circling around where you need to park.
  2. Check the price and request a spot. The price is for the person leaving to wait and make sure you get the spot. You're only charged once you've parked.
  3. Wait for a match. You'll get a push notification when someone nearby is leaving and has accepted your parking spot request.
  4. Once you're matched, you'll see where the parking spot is, the vehicle parked in it (make, model, color, and license plate), and the live location and ETA of the person walking back to it.
  5. Once you're near the parking spot, use the vehicle description to find their car. Double park behind it and wait for them to leave. If there's any confusion, or they're not at the spot yet, you can message them in the app. When they leave, pull into the spot.

Changed your mind? Cancel any time before the handoff and you won't be charged.

How To: Leaving a Spot

  1. Tap Leave a spot. Drag the map until the pin is on your car, and add a note if it helps, like the garage level, the row or a nearby landmark.
  2. Leave now, or save the spot and come back to it later.
  3. Wait for a parking spot request. It shows what you'll earn, who the driver is and how far away they are. If that handoff works for you, accept it. Each request expires after 15 seconds, so the driver isn't left waiting.
  4. Walk back to your car. You'll see the driver's live location, their vehicle description (make, model, color, and license plate), and their ETA to the parking spot.
  5. Once they've arrived, make sure they're ready to take the spot and that nobody else can swoop in. You won't get paid if the driver you've been matched with doesn't get the parking spot. Once you've pulled out and they've taken the spot, confirm it happened.

Your earnings go to your DoublePark balance. You can transfer them to Venmo after 12 hours, or use them to find parking.
